WVU has announced plans for on-campus classes this fall, with base tuition and fees unchanged. Visit the Return to Campus website for the latest.

Audition and Portfolio Review Days

All degree programs in the College of Creative Arts, with the exception of Theatre BA, require a portfolio review (Art & Design) or an audition (Dance, Music, and Theatre).

You must complete the school application online as part of your audition day registration. Additional materials like letters of recommendation, resume and headshot can be brought with you on the day of your audition/portfolio review.

Talent-based creative arts scholarships are available from each School. The portfolio review/audition process for program admission will also allow students to be entered into consideration for these funds.

Students within Art& Design and Theatre & Dance programs must be pursuing a major in the College of Creative Arts to receive scholarship consideration.

Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Dates

Registration for the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 dates will open on June 1, 2020.

School Program Applications

Both the university application and a program application are required for admission into College of Creative Arts. You may complete the program application and secure your audition or portfolio review day before or after your university application is completed. An admission decision for your program cannot be made until after you have been admitted to West Virginia University.

Special Considerations for Spring 2020

Auditions for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester will be accepted by video through the SlideRoom links below. We will continue to accept portfolios (Art & Design, Theatre Design & Technology) through SlideRoom as well. Prior to submitting videos/files, please first complete the application and registration form. Students should follow the audition format as described on the Audition Day Requirements webpage.

Note: We no longer require live accompaniment for voice and musical theatre auditions. Track accompaniment is accepted. If you have any questions, please contact Creative Arts Recruitment Specialist, James Froemel, at jfroemel@mail.wvu.edu.
