Undergraduate Auditions & Portfolio Reviews

Schedule your audition or portfolio review for acceptance into one of our degree programs. All programs require an audition or portfolio review with an exception to the Theatre BA, Art History, Technical Art History, Art Therapy, Game Design and Interactive Media, and Music Industry multi-instrumental degrees.

Steps to apply to the College of Creative Arts

1. Complete the West Virginia University Application.

2. Complete your School or program application below.

3. Review the audition and portfolio review requirements for your program. Submit your audition videos or portfolio media through the respective upload links below.

4. Participate in a live interview with faculty on the date requested through your application.

Both the university application and a School/program application are required for admission into the College of Creative Arts. You may complete the program application and secure your interview time before or after your university application is completed. An admission decision for your program cannot be made until after you have been admitted to West Virginia University.   

Apply to your school/program

The date you are registering for on your application will be your interview date. Get prepared by reviewing the audition and portfolio review requirements for your program. If applying to a BFA Art & Design or Theatre program, you must submit media via SlideRoom prior to coming on campus. Media uploads must be submitted at least two days prior to your interview.

Creative Arts Scholarships

Talent-based creative arts scholarships are available from each School. 

Talent-based Creative Arts Scholarships

The portfolio review/audition process for program admission will also allow students to be entered into consideration for these funds. Students within Art & Design and Theatre & Dance programs must be pursuing a major in the College of Creative Arts to receive scholarship consideration. Art History and Technical Art History majors may submit a portfolio or a research paper in art history or a humanities subject to be considered for a scholarship.

WVU School of Theatre & Dance at the FREDDY© Awards

WVU Theatre & Dance is excited to participate with this year’s FREDDY© Awards! The award presented will provide a scholarship from WVU and the School of Theatre Dance, which when combined with other awards from West Virginia University, will be equivalent to the cost of university tuition. The award is renewable over 8 semesters of study. The Application will open on March 1st and close on May 8th.
