Scholarships and Financial Information

All enrolled College of Creative Arts students will be required to pay the following fees and expenses each semester:

  • University tuition
  • College of Creative Arts tuition
  • Applied lesson tuition (for all music undergraduate and graduate students, music theatre students, and certain music minors that require applied lessons). For Spring 2023 this tuition is $325.
  • Any additional University fees
  • Room and board costs, as necessary

These amounts will differ due to in-state versus out-of-state status and undergraduate versus graduate status.

Undergraduate students who receive a scholarship(s) will have this applied towards the costs of tuition. Graduate students who receive an assistantship or graduate waivers will have all or part of the University tuition covered.

Scholarships

University scholarships are available to West Virginia residents and out-of-state residents.

Students who are admitted to WVU, who complete an application to their School in the College of Creative Arts (School of Art & Design, School of Music, School of Theatre & Dance) and Audition/Portfolio Review process by the final officially-scheduled audition and portfolio review date will be given full consideration for talent-based scholarships through the College of Creative Arts.

Scholarship announcements will be made by April 1 each year and students will be contacted either way regarding their status.

If you audition or attend a review after the final scheduled audition and portfolio review in March, scholarship opportunities are limited and we will contact you only if an award becomes available to you.
