Testimonials

Students share how their Creative Consultants have further prepared them for a career in the arts.

Luke offered me the opportunity to conduct Sleigh Ride with the WV Symphony! I also watched the rehearsals, and it was amazing to be a part of it and soak it in. The conducting lessons are really helping a lot. He’s teaching me about working with a group professionally and giving me tips on how to listen more, and I’m trying to learn the role as a leader. He’s helped me a lot with learning new music and learn what to listen to.

Jacob Blank, Undergraduate Music Education Student, about Consultant Luke Frazier, Conductor of the American Pops Orchestra

Amanda is amazing! We worked on building my CV, getting published writing out, album reviews, revamping my website and adding a blog post page, and building proposals for different conferences which resulted in me being invited to give a 50-minute talk at the Philadelphia Flute Society this spring!

Sammy Holloman, Doctoral Flute Student, about Creative Consultant Dr. Amanda Cook, Editor, I CARE IF YOU LISTEN

Chasdan and I have talked about my path over the next few years, about auditions and what’s going to happen when I become a professional.

Larry Smith, Undergraduate Musical Theatre & Dance Student about Creative Consultant Chasdan Mike, Equity Actor at Walt Disney World

Kate is a working artist. Our meetings are about how to navigate the business side of art. I have a ton of information from her – art business, taxes, how to make contracts, super important stuff I hadn’t even thought about.

Elizabeth Boccabello, Undergraduate Painting Student, about Creative Consultant Kate Hendrickson, Artist and Entrepreneur

Mercedes and I talk a lot about how to become a choreographer and how you apply for apprenticeships. We are also working on materials for my website and resume.
