The CCA Internship Alliance partners with arts organizations throughout our region to provide paid internship positions for College of Creative Arts students.

Through a competitive application process, CCA students begin their professional artistic work immediately, gaining real-world experience in paid internship positions with Internship Alliance partners. 

Tamarack Foundation for the Arts in WV

The Tamarack Foundation for the Arts in West Virginia is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the state's diverse arts and crafts. Through outreach initiatives, workshops, and advocacy, they strive to foster a thriving creative community, showcasing the talent and diversity of West Virginia artists.

Tamarack Foundation for the Arts is offering a paid internship position for graphic design & marketing. This position is open to students in the College of Creative Arts and the Reed College of Media.

Wheeling Symphony Orchestra

The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to engaging & innovative performances, compelling guest artists and works by a diverse range of composers with an emphasis on American music.

Touchstone Center for Crafts

Touchstone Center for Crafts is a unique three-seasons craft school located 60 miles southeast of Pittsburgh in the beautiful mountains of the Laurel Highlands. As Pennsylvania's premier craft school, Touchstone offers beginning and seasoned artists 1-5 day workshops taught by some of North America's finest artisans.

Summit Bechtel Reserve, Boy Scouts of America

Situated in the wilds of West Virginia, The Summit Bechtel Reserve is a training, Scouting, and adventure center for the millions of youth and adults involved in the Boy Scouts of America and anyone who loves the outdoors. The Summit Bechtel Reserve is also home to the National Scout Jamboree and the Paul R. Christen National High Adventure Base.

City of Morgantown

The Arts and Cultural Development Department with the City of Morgantown strives to enhance the vitality of Morgantown and the quality of life for all residents by supporting an environment where arts and cultural organizations thrive, artists and culture bearers are celebrated and supported, and people of all ages enjoy opportunities for expression and experiencing the arts.

The City of Morgantown is offering a paid internship position in music industry/arts management.

How to Apply

Positions in the CCA Internship Alliance are open to all WVU College of Creative Arts and Reed College of Media students. The application for the Tamarack Foundation for the Arts Summer 2024 internship position is due Friday May 3, 2024. All other positions have been filled. The College nominates a select number of student applicants to be considered for the internship positions. The final hiring decision is made by each individual arts organization. Contact Dr. Mikylah Myers at with questions about the program or application process.

Submit a separate application for each internship you are interested in applying for and be sure to tailor your application PDF to the specific internship.

Each application must include the following in a pdf document (LastName_FirstName.pdf):

  • Cover Letter. The cover letter should describe your relevant experience, performances, presentations, exhibitions, and/or coursework. Use your cover letter to explain why you are a great fit for the particular internship you are applying for. 
  • Resumé.
  • A list of relevant courses taken. Please list the instructor and describe how the course is relevant.

Current WVU College of Creative Arts majors, undergraduate and graduate students from any class year, are eligible to apply for summer internships. 

Students will be notified of their Internship Alliance nomination status by Mid-March. Finalists' applications packets will be forwarded to the respective arts organizations. The arts organizations will contact those students directly with any requests for additional information and employment decisions.
