About Tamarack Foundation for the Arts:

Tamarack Foundation for the Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the growth and development of West Virginia's creative economy. Through various initiatives, programs, and resources, we support creatives, artisans, and organizations within the state's vibrant arts community.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Design and Marketing Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both graphic design and marketing within the context of a non-profit arts organization. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts, excellent design skills, and a desire to contribute to the promotion of artistic endeavors in West Virginia.

Responsibilities:

1. Graphic Design:

   - Create visually engaging graphics for digital and print materials, including but not limited to social media posts, event flyers, brochures, newsletters, and promotional materials.

   - Assist in the design and layout of marketing collateral, ensuring brand consistency and alignment with Tamarack Foundation for the Arts' visual identity.

   - Collaborate with team members to develop innovative design concepts that effectively communicate our mission and initiatives.

 2. Digital Marketing:

   - Support the development and execution of digital marketing campaigns across various platforms, including social media (Facebook, Instagram), email newsletters, and the organization's website.

   - Help generate content ideas and produce visually compelling assets to engage our audience and promote upcoming events, programs, and fundraising initiatives.

   - Monitor and analyze the performance of digital marketing efforts..

 3. Content Creation:

   - Assist in creating written content for social media posts, blog articles, press releases, and other marketing materials as needed.

   - Contribute to the development of storytelling campaigns that highlight the impact of the arts on individuals and communities throughout West Virginia.

Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student of a degree program in graphic design, marketing, or a related field in the WVU College of Creative Arts or the WVU Reed College of Media.

- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.

- Strong visual design skills with an eye for detail and aesthetics.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing practices is a plus.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

- Passion for the arts and a commitment to supporting the creative community in West Virginia.

Compensation:

- 15-20 hours a week, $15/hour.
