Bassoon Audition Requirements

Undergraduate (BM in Music Education, Performance, Music Therapy; BA in Music; BS in Music and Health)

  •  Two contrasting solo pieces/movements. These may be from concerti, sonatas, or unaccompanied works; one selection may be an etude. Select repertoire that best represents your performance level. 

  • All major scales across your full range.


Master of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts

  • Two contrasting solo pieces/movements. These may be from concerti, sonatas, or unaccompanied works; one selection may be an etude. Select repertoire that best represents your musicianship and artistic outlook.

  • Three contrasting orchestral excerpts.

  • You are welcome to bring an additional selection (~3-5 minutes) that you feel strengthens your audition and/or demonstrates your artistry.


Artist Diploma

Please prepare a 60-minute program that best represents your artistry. At least one work must be by a composer from a historically marginalized background, and at least one work must have been written in the past 50 years.
